Today I woke up at 8am. My husband woke me up as he was coming to bed from working third shift. I kissed him goodnight, grabbed my vitamins and headed downstairs.
Everyone was already up. And my sister in law was dressed and everything. Talk about me being the slow & lazy one....
She must've gotten up fairly early. Her hair was done already and everything. I sat and had my coffee and worked a while on waking up. Once I was finally geared up I got going and did chores.
I took care of the dishes and then did the small bathroom. After that I vacuumed the kitchen and the living room. My mother-in-law dusted and did the big bathroom. When I was done she washed the floor in the small bathroom and kitchen areas. I went and took my shower which ended up being way longer than planned..like usual.
Then Sharon and Jamie and I decided to run a few places. First we went to a flower shop that my Sharon works at once in a while. Jamie wanted to use the internet to see if her grades were posted from the last semester yet. They don't have internet at the house so we usually end up there or the library. Her grades weren't on there yet. We hung around for a bit and chatted with the owners and then headed on our way.
Then we went to Walmart. I raided the earrings while Sharon found the sodas. She needed to get some 2 liters for a home interior party she's having tomorrow. Jamie, never pulled far from her movie addiction, went straight to the tape and dvd section and bought The Mummy Returns.
After that we stopped at the grocery store. Sharon had to finish shopping for the party. I looked around for pesto like my mom had when I was visiting her, but I didn't see it anywhere. Next time, I will ask if they carry it or can order it. I must find......must have!!!
While we were there we also bought some cookies for us, completely on impulse, just because.
Then on the way home we broke open a package of cookies. There were macaroon and they were wonderful :)
Jamie decided she wanted to rent a couple of movies (surprising? no.). She started calling around for this one movie she just had to get. It was so funny. Every place she called, she asked for Simplicity. No one had it. The she realized she was saying it wrong...not Simplicity...Serendipity! It was SO funny! She was so embarrassed she didn't want to call any of the places back to see if they had it. Finally she did though and of course.....they had it.
So, we went to the movie place up the road from the house. Took all of four minutes to get there which was great. Sharon was just shaking her head at us the entire time we were there. Jamie and I were all over that movie store, pointing and grabbing and chattering about this film and that film. She said we were talking so fast she could barely keep up. Finally, she said, "My god! Put the two of you together and look what happens!!" We both busted out laughing........and so did the woman behind the counter! If it had been up to us, I think we would have rented every video in the place. And Jamie agrees with that! We ended up getting Kate & Leopold, because I didn't get to see it all out by my mom's; and we got Serendipity. That one was REALLY good! It's with John Cusak and Kate Beckinsale. After we were done raiding the store we came home to watch our movies.
Sharon fell asleep almost instantly like she does so it was just the two of us watching. After it was over we got Sharon up to watch her favorite show Trading Spaces. Half way through watching, it looked like it was going to storm. We all pitched in and brought all the potted plants, wind chimes and deck furniture into the garage. Then they went back in but Arnie and I stayed to watch the storm. He likes them almost as much as I do. It was a quick one...........but still cool. Was small and fast with a bit of a bow echo on the radar, definitely a little squall. For about 15 mins or so, the winds topped at least 45 to 50 mph. But then it slowed down and just rained. There was a little bit of thunder and lightning but not too much. It was a typical storm line, came went fast. Then before we knew it, it was sunny again.
We went back inside and fixed up grilled chicken and camper potatoes (jamie's favorite!) for supper. They watched the other episode of 'Trading Spaces' and I started reading my book. Then Sharon made her cakes and brownies for the party tomorrow while I kept right on reading. I'm 3/4 of the way through it now. It has about 800 pages or so. I ended up reading until about 12:30 in the morning. At some point Jamie fell asleep on the couch so it was just my Sharon and I. While her food for the party was all cooking we talked about everything from work to men to whatever came up. It was actually really nice.

Today is my first day back from visiting mom out on the island. The experience was a combination of ups and downs I guess. It reminded me why I can't be around her for more than a few days at a time. We have fun yet at the same time she gets under my skin quite a bit.
Things are about the same here as when I left. My husband did some laundry while I was gone which I was very thankful for. I only had to put one load in the washer for him. I will start all of my laundry from the last ten days when his is done, as mom washes her clothing by hand and hangs it out to dry.
My mother in law had her hair permed. She did it herself and it turned out quite well. She looks good with the extra body it gives her. She said she was tired of having to put it in curlers every morning. The hot rollers were just to much for her right now, as she is having enough issues with her little 'power surges'.
As usual she told me a few things that could be done around here before she left for Green Bay this morning. I really don't mind all that much as it gives me something to do.
She is on her way to pick up my sister in law from the airport and then they are going shopping for a while. They said they should be home by 7pm or so.
----------
I am sitting in the garage right now. It's around 6pm. I did the usual today. Swept and vacuumed, emptied the dishwasher and put dirty ones in to run. After that I started that laundry. I'm still actually doing the last of mine, it's taken forever.
I picked some of my banana peppers today. They were huge! We boiled some pickle juice and put my peppers in the jar. It was hot, so we set the jar in the sink after putting the lid on it. Then we put a towel around it, just in case the glass doesn't hold.
-----
Around 7:30 pm or so, my mother in law's boyfriend and I were getting pretty hungry and they had not returned from Green Bay yet. We decided to go ahead and eat, figuring that they probably stopped somewhere in Green Bay. I made up the easy Velvita Shells & Cheese. While the noodles were boiling, I read my new SK book. He knows how I am when I read, so he set the timer on the stove so I wouldn't overcook the noodles. I continued reading and sure enough the buzzer pulled me back out of my book. I'm glad he set it. Then we divvied up the food into two bowls and walla! Easy dinner is served! Of course right as we started eating, they arrived. We found out they'd eaten in Green Bay so it worked out well all around.
Then we all chatted for a while. My husband stopped by quick for his shirt for Americinn. Him and his mom's boyfriend ended up comparing who was better at clucking like a chicken.....the intelligence in the room was shocking.... Heh was pretty funny though, sounded like a damned farm!
Then my husband left and we all chatted a while longer before my mother in law and her boyfriend finally went to bed.
My sister-in-law and I were up until almost one am, talking about movies and books. It was pretty cool! There are a few movies we are going to watch next week. We are SO alike when it comes to being movie addicts.
Finally we crashed too. She ended up taking the couch (which is super comfy) which comes with one mandatory ex barn cat......Tabitha :) In Tabbers defense though, she just can't resist a cushy blanket... ;)
